...I think there’s a small chance there’s no specific scandal and that Palin is just very mentally unstable.
Actually, having an elected official with that degree of mental instability seems specifically scandalous to me, although many Republicans doubtless disagree.

I agree that having a national elected official with a diagnosable personality disorder is somewhat troubling.

I can only hope for a change.

Me too. I mean, it won't be easy to get rid of Inhofe, Bachmann, DeMint, etc., but it's certainly worth the effort.

It might indeed be a case similar to that of a man who once withdrew from politics so people wouldn't have him to "kick around anymore," only to resurface a few short years later, and actually win the presidency; something that elluded him by a few thousand votes literally resurrected from Cook County, Illinois, in 1960.

What should concern all of us - Democrat, Republican or independent - is the possible belief of the governor and her base that her role is to govern America through "end times" and a thermonuclear war in the Mideast. Somehow, we've survived one president already who seemed to believe that God was on his side. We may not be able to do that trick again.

I have nothing against Christians, which Governor Palin professes to be. If America must have a president that wants to call him or herself a Christian, I'd just like that president to remember that reportedly Jesus called himself the Prince of Peace, not the God of War.

Besides, America really can't afford to provide for the defense of the entire planet, anymore. Not that we ever really could.
