Just wondering…

…is there a single Republican, House or Senate, who would vote for a health care reform bill because cooperatives replaced a public option in the quest for the grail of bi-partisanship?

And what if there where no rhetorical questions?

This is why Obama and the Dems should not have taken Single Payer off the table. I'm betting even Collins and Snowe won't vote for a reform bill in the end.

I think both Senators Collins and Snowe might vote in favor of cooperatives. Of course, it would make them pariahs, and they might follow Senator Specter over into the Democratic column - after that vote.

A lot would depend on what they've heard from their consitutents - all of them, not just the most loud.

Watching a republican bloggers conference the other day, they indicated that since they have no power that they will do everything they can to stall any legislation that the Dems come up with. That appears to be true. I'm guessing health care will get done with or without republicans.

What's irritating is watching republicans say one thing on C-span and then the opposite in their home state.
