"I know of no other country, indeed, where the love of money has taken stronger hold on the affection of men, and where the profounder contempt is expressed for the theory of the permanent equality of property." - Alexis de Tocqueville

While written over 150 years ago, it still seems true. How else to explain all those folks who call anything remotely resembling parity in terms of health care, across America, "socialism"? Well, admittedly, FOX News and the clown show known as Glenn Beck, stirred up the crowds.

As H.L. Mencken said, "No one ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

Why do you hate America, da patriot?

Good quote, Terry, but though love of money is certainly an American trait of long standing, I wouldn't equate it with love of America itself.
