Quote of the day.

Willie Nelson...

"The more I get into politics the more I realize that I am a guitar player.”
Nice pretext for a tip of the Stetson to the Eldest Son of Upper Left, who's on the road working Willie's stage on the Country Throwdown tour. He's been lots of places with lots of tours over the years, but I've never been this jealous of one of my kids.

David Crosby, in an interview with the now defunct CREEM magazine, once said, "Politics is bullshit."

He was expressing his frustration with politics, circa as such things were in America, during the waning years of the Nixon administration. Additionally, given the state of his own life at that time, and the trajectory it followed, until he quit drinking and using a variety of drugs, other than alcohol, one has to consider the source of his statement.

But given what one sees and reads, via digital media and the printed word, it oftentimes seems that Crosby might not have been far off the mark. Politics is a difficult line of work, thanks to trying to have to please everyone; while at the same time getting people to pay you to continually interview for continuation of your employment (via the same digital media and printed word, in advertisements).

No wonder some people figure playing music for money is a better way to go; dfficult as that is, at times.
